The padded cover was complete but detached , however the spine was missing. This book received a sympathetic repair with a new spine created from goatskin leather.
A book that had seen better days. The brief was to rebind it whilst retaining the character of the book. A buff leather was chosen along with raised bands and blind tooling to the front and rear covers.
The manuscript came to me as loose pages and most of these pages needed extensive repair. It was a challenge that I looked forward to. The final result , complete with half leather binding was a great success.
Like many ‘pocket’ bibles and prayer books they become well worn through use and age, with the spine becoming detached and pages made loose. A relatively inexpensive repair has restored and renewed it back to use.
How to grow and produce your own food is a cherished and well used book, whose spine had become detached and corners worn. Now having been repaired it is ready to give many more happy hours of discovery.

This bonded leather book was suffering from damp and mould and needed repairing and rebinding.
This was a set of original pamphlets from 1784 that were first repaired and then bound into one hard cover, bookclothed book.
